Make a dance video from one photo

Choose a dance, add a photo of yourself, and Banana Studio makes a video of you performing the moves. The motion is copied from a real reference clip, so the steps and timing match the original dance.

Dance video from photo: what it does well

  • Real choreography

The moves come from an actual dance clip rather than a text description, so timing and steps follow the original routine.

  • You stay you

Before the motion step, your photo is turned into a full-body shot that keeps your face, hair, skin tone, body type and clothes.

  • The music comes along

The reference clip's original sound is kept, so the finished video already has its soundtrack.

  • Pets can dance too

If no person is found in the photo, Banana Studio animates your pet with a dance-style clip instead. Pet clips follow a dance prompt rather than the exact steps.

Who it is for

  • Trend followers

Join a dance trend without learning the routine or filming yourself.

  • Gift makers

Surprise a friend with a video of them dancing, using a photo they are happy for you to use.

  • Pet owners

Good to know

  • Photos where both arms are visible, the person faces the camera and the frame shows at least mid-thigh up gave the best results in our own tests.
  • Leave suggestive words out of the optional prompt. The motion model's content checker can refuse them.
  • Some dance previews in Discover are for viewing only and cannot be created yet; the preview says so.

Questions about Dance video from photo

How does a dance video from a photo work?

Banana Studio first prepares a full-body version of your photo that keeps your face and clothes, then transfers the motion from the dance clip onto it with Kling motion control. The clip's music is kept.

How many credits does a dance video cost?

Each dance video costs 240 credits, for a clip of up to 10 seconds. The 7-day introduction ($1.99, 240 credits) covers 1 dance video, and the Pro plan's 2,200 monthly credits cover about 9 dance videos. The exact price for your settings is shown on the Create button before you start.

Can I use my own dance clip?

Yes. In Create, choose Video, then Copy a dance or motion, and upload your photo and an MP4 clip. The clip should show one person dancing with the full body or upper body in view.

What kind of photo works best for a dance video?

One person, facing the camera, arms visible, from at least mid-thigh up, with nothing covering the body. Group photos and selfies with a stretched-out arm give weaker results.

Can two people dance together in one video?

Not yet. The dance feature animates one person per video, and the duo dances in Discover are previews for now.

Will the dancer in the video look like me?

Your face, hair, skin tone, body type and clothing are kept when the full-body frame is prepared. Sharp photos with your face clearly visible give the closest match.
